s the management team of KOPATNAS, we spent a lot of time with farmers household in the field, and thinking about how to
develop them in favorable interconnecting with stakeholders (financial institution, market & Government) and others I dealt with,
during years. we have proposed to stakeholders to view a problem in this passionate way, to put aside provincial point of view,
and to look evidence and the broader interest, before making a decision which were often on short term and self interest, cronyism,
or political party interest. Those are neglecting the interest of the nation. As the result, many decisions were misleading.
We couldn’t have chosen a more sorrowful time to go into Asian multi-dimensional crisis that began by Asian Financial Crisis
in 1997. who has radically change my views of devastating effect of globalization, nevertheless, We believe that globalization will
remove the barriers of the traditional trade to a more freer trade. Henceforth to be a closer integration of all economies. However,
I also worried, the impact of the globalization in the term of the World Trade agreement which is not in favour to the developing
economies.
To my experiences, as what I saw and understand about difficulties of the Asian farmers inspired me a concept, “Link & Match”,
e.i to train the farmers and organize them into agribiz activities, leading to ascertain corporate culture. This is to empower them
to have a broad access to Capital, Technology and Market. And finally, this is to improve the live of million of farmers-fisherman,
who live in poverty to a better living condition and hence it competitive capacity. For the sake of the above mentioned objective,
in January 2001, We declared a movement which is called National Alliance of Farmers Cooperative (KOPATNAS). Meanwhile we
declared a consortium of 17 National Insurance Companies, suppose to backup the planting risk.
